Update – August 2016

WHERE WE STAND NOW IN THE POLITICAL ARENA:

As Trump’s astrology chart predicted several months ago the energies have been very troublesome for him. To review, Uranus is making squares to his Saturn and Venus, Pluto is making a square to his Jupiter, and Saturn and Mars in Sagittarius are opposing his Sun and Uranus. What this boils down to is an indifference to what other people may think and what he needs to do. He may be misinterpreting what other people may think he should do and consequently he has an inability to take advice from anybody else. Basically he is frustrated, an emotion he is not accustomed to as he is used to getting his own way.

In addition, and this is for all the candidates, Mercury at 27° Virgo is going retrograde at the end of the month: August 31 to be exact. This is going to be an opportunity for the candidates as well as the electorate to reevaluate what they’ve been saying and hearing and to check for authenticity. It is certainly not a good time to negotiate or to make promises. All the facts are not in and decisions made during this period will often be incorrect, changed or broken. The retrograde lasts until September 14. However, some astrologer’s believe that retrograde energy continues until Mercury has returned to its original place when it began the retrograde which then would be on October 5. It is also worthwhile noting that when the election became volatile and intense earlier this year, the outer planets were direct. Now they are all retrograde, forcing actions and thoughts to move inward, adding a lot to this coming period of review.

Two days ago, Saturn turned direct! When Saturn is moving backward everything seems to slow down, payments aren’t made, promises aren’t kept, business decisions are waylaid. Over the years I’ve seen however a good side to a Saturn retrograde: the seeming slow down actually puts us back into right timing. The tendency is to want everything right now and Saturn keeps us in the correct flow. Now that this planet has turned direct, many delayed actions will begin to take form. It could have a positive effect for the selection of the new SCOTUS judge and positive legal actions in general. Incidentally, Saturn is not at home in Sagittarius so don’t expect too much.

I have acquired the astrology chart of Hillary’s choice for vice president, Tim Kaine. Here are some noteworthy comparisons. There is a Pisces connection: Hillary’s Moon and Tim’s Sun creative a positive compatibility. They can work well together. However, Pisces is always in danger of wool gathering and theatre. There is a Jupiter/Sun connection is Scorpio. This excellent for working together, being positive, active and energetic. It puts some fire into watery Scorpio. Furthermore, Kaine’s Moon is Gemini and falls in Clinton’s 7th house, He would make a good mouthpiece for her. Many people find her unbelievable which I attribute to her intense Scorpio energy. Gemini’s are able to talk about anything to anybody and sound like they know what they are talking about! And finally there is the Uranus/Mars connection in Leo. This gives the ability to act and make decisions on the fly, meet deadlines and follow-through. Altogether these are good energies which indicate a good choice for Vice President.

What will we find next month???

Update – July 2016

Last night there was a coup in Turkey. A day earlier there was a mass murder using a truck in Nice, France. We are experiencing an usual and difficult astrological configuration. Mars is in Scorpio and was retrograde for 10 weeks from mid-April to the end of June. It’s like pulling the arrow back farther and farther so that when released it travels far and deadly. Mars in Scorpio is one of the worst places for Mars to be. So much anger and hostility added to the already volatile world situation has to go somewhere. The numbers last night, (daytime in Turkey) were 24° and three planets were involved Mars in Scorpio, Uranus in Aries, and the Sun in Cancer. Since the ruler of Aries is Mars the intensity has been increased. Uranus is volatile and creates unexpected actions, in this case, actions intensified by anger and the fear caused by Saturn squaring Neptune. During World War II, Pres. Roosevelt is famously quoted for saying “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” That is still good advice. The Bible, which to me is an excellent source of good psychology, tells us that ten righteous men can save the world. In the words of my Teacher, “Well Soddom and Gomorrah is all around us. It simply means individuals who are degenerating themselves willfully. Now we can live in this environment with those individuals. Willful degeneracy is to destroy or tear down and you can live in this environment and be right thinking and elevated and hold it in check. It only takes 10 to hold back a tremendous amount of people that are not spiritual. 10 spiritual people can hold back thousands of unspiritual people.”

And what about how this energy relates on the personal level? If you have planets in any of the fixed signs, that is, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, then you are going to be feeling this energy, especially if you have numbers in the late degrees. If nothing else you are experiencing maximum stress. Fortunately the Earth continues to revolve and this energy will pass, but not without teaching us something.

The RNC is scheduled for the 18th, this coming Monday and will be operating under the same energy of Mars and Uranus. Saturn and Neptune are also squared creating more fear and paranoia. With the Sun Square Uranus, Trump made his decision to select Gov Mike Pence as his running mate, Not a good time to do that!! Like Trump, Pence is a Gemini (unfortunately as of this writing we have no birth hour for him). However, we do know he was born during the New Moon. Together with his Gemini Mercury we can definitely see that despite his political leanings being so different from Trumps, with so much Gemini energy he can easily change to fit any situation. (We’ve already seen this effect in Trump the way he constantly and easily changes his mind according to whom he is speaking.) What I found most interesting today is that, that “dreadful Mars” is making an exact conjunct to Pence’s Jupiter right now! I think he sees this as a great opportunity to advance his own career!. Good Luck Gov!

Incidentally, In this month’s Mountain Astrologer, there is a long article about Donald Trump and the impossibility of his being elected. It’s a good read, but I don’t see the astrology as being so convincing…. However, Uranus IS squaring his Saturn and Venus in Cancer, and Pluto IS squaring his Jupiter. It means frustration, the old tried and true isn’t working, perhaps financial problems, and difficulty if not failure in achieving ones goals. To be continued…..

Update – May 2016

Things can change fast in politics, can’t they? I had intended to write about Cruz and Kasich but for now they aren’t in the picture anymore. But I do want to say that of all the candidates, Cruz has the far and away worst chart: A grand cross and many very troublesome oppositions. It was no surprise he was so poorly accepted. When he stepped down, Pluto was squaring his Uranus (change of direction), his Moon (separation), and his Mercury (bad news). Katich didn’t have a birth time so I can’t say much with any accuracy about him.

That leaves Hillary. Hillary is a double Scorpio: both the Sun and the Rising are Scorpio. Her Moon is in Pisces. We are talking water, big time! Water people are emotional, adaptable, changeable, especially the Pisces Moon. They forgive easily, make excuses for others, can be very spiritual and/or artistic. They understand trends. Scorpio water on the other hand is savvy, knows how to play the game and gets the job done. They understand subterfuge, they know how to expose or reveal the truth. They can be transformational.

Right now we have several planets in retrograde. This means we are taking a look back, reviewing, redefining. Not just you and I and the electorate, but the candidates as well. Saturn and Mars are close to each other and retrograde causing a slow down, loss of energy and urgency to act. Pluto in Capricorn is the energy responsible for big changes in government, the Donald Trump and the Bernie Sanders influences in this wild election time. But Pluto is retrograde now and things seem to have calmed down somewhat although Pluto’s ability to expose secrets and the truth is stronger in the retrograde position. Nevertheless, the Republicans are trying to find a way to “like” Trump and keep him in the fold. But! Mercury is also retrograde and will not go forward until May 22nd. For almost a month Mercury retrograde has been adding additional confusion, misunderstandings, and untruths. I’m curious to see how people will backtrack when it goes direct on the 22nd. Jupiter has just gone direct in Virgo and can help keep facts straight and on the track. Jupiter here wants professionalism and that is why Trump is trying to tone his style down but not succeeding very well. BTW: There will be no planets retrograde on election day!

Just a reminder: these updates are also posted on my website!

Update – April 2016

The response for monthly updates was so huge and gratifying that I am sending this to everyone, but if you do NOT wish to receive them, please email me to take you off the monthly list.

Since doing a monthly update was a result of the astrological take on the current election I will continue to follow that trend. Please be advised that this in no way reflects my political bent. I myself don’t know yet how I will vote.

There is some change in the direction of the planets. Saturn joined Jupiter in retrograde. These two planets are the archetypes for many of the issues we are contemplating politically right now. Jupiter tells us about the supreme court and all lesser legal issues. The death of Scalia has brought the need to select a new judge, but the resistance is huge. Saturn rules structures and the need to be in control and when retrograde shows where one has neglected to fix something. Who will win? Obama or the rightwing republicans? Well, Since Saturn just went retrograde and Jupiter will go direct in early May, the astrological energy would indicate that a new judge will be appointed before the presidential election. The “old guard” rethinks their position as law and order takes prominence. These two planets also show that the police and racist issues will continue but that reflection and time will change viewpoints and some of the problems in this area will be fixed: i.e. the LAPD want to provide video cameras for all uniforms.

Pluto is retrograding on Monday, April 18th. Pluto is often the shadow of the collective as I have written about in the last newsletter. Now, going in an apparent backward direction, It’s energy will be more reflective, hopefully less self-destructive, and hitherto secrets will be discovered and exposed when Pluto goes direct once again. Since Pluto in Capricorn is considered by many to indicate the Age of Corporations, this backward energy could affect the destructive power of big business, with more governments and individuals taking a stand against some of the more harmful effects: lead and other contaminants in drinking water, use of poisonous chemicals in farming, etc. Mars is also taking a turn, on the 26th of this month. This should de-energize political fervor and slow down unthinking actions.

For Trump these planetary changes could bring some thoughtfulness to his own personal unconscious since both Mars and Saturn retrograde in his 4th house. The Pluto retrograde occurs in his 5th house of risk taking and may bring about more responsibility to his followers. In a personal chart the 5th house is love and sex without commitment and in a way his followers have fallen in love with him not realizing that he really has no commitment to them but rather to his own need.

Both Sanders and Clinton Have Scorpio Ascendents. For that reason they are affecting similarly by the retrograde planets. Mars and Saturn when retrograde are depleting and in the first house could affect them physically, tiring them and lessening their charisma. With Pluto in their 2nd house, the retrograde could hurt them financially.

I have not done the Kasich or Cruz charts yet, but will next month. So “stay “tuned!”
